I understand (from a very reliable source) that the most likely original producer would have been Malaya (Malaysia).
Apart from their recent Lotus connection, they seem to have these great big "tree" things, called 'rubber' trees. (vbg)
HTH.

Buy yourself a std. window rubber w/ "crome" insert sold by the mtr. Don't think the rubber used came off another car ....(????) There is a company called East Kent Vintage supply-something that may be able to help, if you are in UK.

Ed,
I doubt it was from some other car, I would think it was just rubber used in the motor trade.
I have a hard top for my S2 but its not a factory top, I had a perspex window cut for it and used a rubber trim from the people who make canopy's for pick up's. It has the "insert" in the rubber and its the same that is in the front screen, I just bought a length and used it on both.
Brian.

I've been trying to source that extrusion and insert for the factory H/T on my MGB, with no luck. Has to be a supplier selling it by the yard *someplace* in North America? Three cars here with it, and it was used on most English cars of the period (late '50's to late '60's). Why so hard to find?
