Bonnet fixings

The captive nuts on the bonnet latch fixing plate seem to face forwards (into the fibreglass) rather than on the cabin side of the plate. Is this correct or have I got something wrong? Surely the flat plate should lie against the fibreglass with the nuts on the otherside?

rjaxe,
thanks, I suspect that I have 'faulty plates', the hole spacings determine which way round it goes and there is no way the existing plates would fit the other way round.

Mike, compared to my fixing plates, yours are back to front. They should not be handed (drivers side and passesngers side should be the same).
For mine, and looking from the nut side of the plates:-
the left hand nut is central, the upper right hand nut is in the top corner, the lower right nut is set in from the edge say 16mm.
Make new plates or fibreglass and redrill?
I'd be inclined to make new plates starting with stainless steel sheet metal approx 1.5mm thick. Silverbraze the nuts in location. (use soft brass screws to keep the nuts in position while brazing, then drill and tap)
Regards
Gerry

Mot sure what happened to last night's reply. No my brackets are not handed but they appear to be made incorrectly!
I have a set on my other car (garaged some way away) so I'll check them.
Thanks to all for your help.
