Total Body Respray

Like most cars my S4 has its fair share of cracks and chips as the last respray was done around 1990. As I am no good at body work I want to drive it to some place and drive it away later with new paint. Any suggestions where to get this done and what sort of price to expect to pay? NOTE this is for UK only

Hi Steve,
I had my car resprayed at SMS near Spalding in Lincs. They did an excellent job and reasonably quickly (3 months). Total cost was around £4K + £1K for extras (they fitted a new wiring loom, had my dash refurbished, refitted some of the trim etc. I can send you my phone number if you would like more info.
The car had been originally resprayed red over white, then black over white the more black and more black so there was a lot of paint to remove. I live near Cambridge if you want to have a look at the paint job.

I have been quoted £4/5k for my +2, by Options 1, near Bromsgrove (down the road from Mattey's) for a 'back to glass' job. - web link -

This was for a strip back to glass, add another layer of tissue to eliminate once and for all the nasty blisters..... build back and apply modern paint plus a laquer (perhaps not for the traditionalists, but the paint will last in full sun). A friend of mine has had bodywork done on his TVR with them and the result was superb - he knows his stuff, especially Loti & TVRs including trick finishes (heat sensitive - why?!). Expensive but this was for a drive in/drive out job and the results show.
Unfortunately, my dentist tells me he needs the cash for his next holiday, so I can't do it this summer....
