Loop Pile Carpet

PostPost by: mark030358 » Sat May 14, 2005 11:51 pm

Gents,
Any idea where you can get a good quality loop pile carpet from. Tried Coverdale and they had none. Woolies have some but it is not right. Anywhere in the USA perhaps?

cheers

Dave Bean has loop pile as well. Sets precut to fit. B+ IMHO

I had posted an inquiry about carpet for my 64 S1 several weeks ago with some replys, but little in the way of real help. The carpet set that I had came from AutoMat, and the fit was not good. After an extensive web search for better carpet, I got nowhere. AutoMat is the only company in the world (literally) that makes carpet for my Elan. Dave Bean carries their carpet. AutoMat remade one piece and supplied additional carpet as I needed. This was done with the help of Ray at RD Enterprize.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by loop pile but woolies do supply a rot proof non fraying carpet, off the roll. I think they describe it as Jaguar. Suilts my Elan well.

If you are still open to buying by the yard and cutting your own set - LeBaron-Bonney in Mass has some of the nicest auto carpet in wool and nylon, cut and loop, long and short I have seen. The also have a toll free number and will send free swatchs/samples quickly.

web page with photos and descriptions -
