Supporting The Body To Lift..best Place?

Hi There
I am about to lift the body on my +2. It has no interior or front & rear screens, but the fully built up doors and dash are in.
I have put a piece of 4"x4" wood under the sill each side, about an inch inboard of the bottom lip, and am jacking on that. I then intend to use one farm jack each side once I can get another 4"x4" under the side beams and over the backbone.
The car will pivot around the middle beam, so I will support each end.
Is it OK to support the car for a few months with jacks under the side beams or is a different arrangement preferable? An alternative would be beams across the body, one at the front, one at the back.
Many thanks for any opinions!

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

Berni,
I'm not quite sure how/why you intend to pivot the body, I would be concerned about it toppling off.
I made up two triangular frames wich hook up into the jacking points in the sills. The two frames are joined by the top by a 3" box section cross bar. I used a 1/2 ton hoist to lift the body off, I can email you a photo.
IMHO supporting the body on two 4 x 4 just inside the sills is as good as you can get.

Hi Sean
Your arrangement sounds much better! You are right, the car will fall over if no action is taken to stabalise it. I have some ratchet straps which will be passed across/under the front and rear and attached high up at the sides of the garage. The farm jacks will take 90% of the weight, and as long as everything is properly tensioned there should be no problem at all. The body must not be allowed to pitch or yaw to any significant degree.
The straps running under the could can probably take the full weight if they had to, but I do not want to test that theory. The weight that they will take is limited by the strength of the fixings on the garage. I will post a picture once it is suspended.
It's all part of the fun!
