This has probably been asked zillions of times before but ....
I have a Nov '73 +2 with scruffy badges. I plan to replace them. Should they be yellow/green or black?
In other words when did the colour of the badge change from G/Y to black and back again?
Hamish.

Sometime between around 1948 and 2005 they changed
My 72 Sprint has green yellow badges - as for what the factory fitted to any particular car on any particular day/year is anyones guess.
The date of change just MIGHT be linked to Jim Clark's death BUT the first black badges were on a road test report of an Elan that was published a few days BEFORE Jim Clark died.

Go with what ever it has or what ever you feel looks best. The Yellow (beat up enough to be original) looks nice on my BRG 66 Elan, the black (certianly original) looked nice on my Blue 78 Esprit. Although the Elan had a black horn push, I opted for the yellow as I liked it better.
