Sill body joint, what colour?

The body joint on the sills of my +2S130 is painted black. What is the original colour of this, is it meant to be white as the bodywork? I'm wondering whether to paint it silver to match the roof, though keeping it black might be the best thing ..

Hi Thor,
The sill joint should be satin black, I had a car with it painted the same colour as the body (white) and it made the car look, well, fat really, in my opinion. I painted it black and it makes it fade into the shadow cast by the car - looked much better...
I was wondering the same thing about the join around the spare wheel well, wether this would look better black too, but from period pictures I have seen this is usually body-coloured. But it does stand out a bit on a white car.

True, very true. I did actually paint it black, but shiny hammerite, as it's easier to keep clean, strong, and that's what it had on already...
I does make it look fat with a body colour sill joint, and makes the body look poorly finished, as not many of us has arrow straight unblemished sills..... do we?
