Front Valance Seam

I have a seam running on the underside of the front valance of my early +2. It's just visible in the attached picture. Is this normal, or the result of someone adding a new front end? The seam appears to join the lower valance with the rest of the body. The outer joint is very poor with a gap between the body and valance seams. Internally the joint is seamless.

I?d be interested to know if this is a feature of all vehicles and do I therefore need to remove or repair?

It's quite correct to be that way. It usually suffers quite badly from kerb contact while parking. Yours looks good

The picture is quite deceptive. The fibre glass flaps about and has very little strength. I'll be re-glassing them today.

The radiator is the original Triumph full width type. I had it re-cored by my local rad shop and added a Kenlowe fan.

I had the car up yesterday to fix the exhaust, and when I moved the axle stand away from the front member of the Spyder frame, I left it RIGHT UNDER the front seam before ensuing the lowering with the trolley jack... I stopped when I heard a hint of crunching :shock: and VERY quickly jacked up....... THANK GOD..

Moral: NEVER lower a jack too fast.... (ehm., and watch where you put things.) :oops:
