WHERE can I find professional type Vinyl/fabric front wing protectors suitable for my +2S ? The type I always see in glossy magazine reports on restoration workshops, that are draped over the front wing/into the engine bay.

If you can pinch one without SWMBO finding out it'll soon be crappy enough for the job...

Ed, I suppose that makes a heated garage a necessity in Canada?
Rather than cover the wings I use what are termed "clean condition suits" as used in aerospace or critical type environments inside rotating machinery such as turbines and generators (when not rotating!) The idea behind them is you can't inadvertently take anything in that can be dropped or fall out of pockets, and everything you do take into the controlled environment such as tools and measuring instruments is logged in and out.
That's not a problem when working round the Elan but the big advantage is they are very soft cotton overalls with just a velcro fastened front with no pockets, buttons, zips or buckles to catch on anything. Dab some wax on the wings and the car gets a polish at the same time

Thor, - the pain with the ones you can buy is that they are usually magnetic in order to hold on to the wing.......- doesn't work too well on an Elan....

ah yes... some good ones here. I found some on the link with weights sown in rather than magnets, which obviuosly don't work too well...
I have a sneaking suspicion that if magnets worked on the wings so would the 50% non-working electrics,,, .......??

I got one from Snap-on (avail. in red, black or blue) with snap on logo
and sticky rubber underside. for about 13 pounds and - no magnets...
(not shown in the online catalog - they are different light weight types,
more flexible)
