Child Car Seats For Use In A Sprint.

Hi Guys, been reading this forum for a while without contributing, but I could do with some info, so.......

My boy has just grown out of his 1st car seat. I'm therefore looking to get the next stage up car seat (11Kg + - forward-facing) that I can use in the daily driver - a Golf, but that I can also place, if necessary, in the Sprint front passenger seat. Initial enquiries at Halfords get the (expected response) of "What's a static Seat Belt ???" so:

Has anyone tried it ?
If so, what make/model fitted ?

Let's face it, you've got to start 'em when their young.......
