5 Speed Gearbox

Lotus 5 Speed GearBox for sale.
I have had this since 2006 and it was ready to go in my plus2, but I never got to it and now the car is sold. The prop shaft is 104 cm and should be correct length for plus 2. The slave cylinder needs replacement but the line/ tubes are good. The box rotates free. Due to the long sit still I would recommend a good clean. As seen on photo there is some surface rust on the gear wheels.
I am situated in Copenhagen. I can arrange shipping/ make a transport box.
Price 2400€

Good evening Otto,
I am interested in the gearbox to have a spare for mine, which is in my 68 S3. I understand that you never ran this box, or tested it in another vehicle, right? You never had it apart and inspected the bearings and internals, right?
I am located in Duesseldorf, Germany, so ( relatively) close to you.
Cheerio !

Hi Philipp
Yes that’s right. I have only inspected it from above as shown in the picture. That said, the box was ready to go in the car in 2006 but yes I have never tried it for real. Had to much fun riding 4 speed.
I have build a flight case for it for transportation but you are welcome to pick it up in Copenhagen. I have beers
For good order I should say that there is another potential buyer interested these days.

Hello from the US!
I am interested in the 5-speed for my Elan Sprint. Is it still available?

Hi Larry The gearbox is still here. I have looked at the shipping costs and it will be about 600 US dollars. Please note that the drive shaft is for +2 so it is probably too long for the Sprint. I can sell the gearbox without it and that will reduce the price, especially shipping costs.
Kind Regards
Otto

Larry, you probably still want the prop shaft to get it shortened.
The 5 speed prop shaft bolts onto a flange on the rear of the gearbox, as opposed to the 4 speed which has a splined drive.
