Pair of Weber 40 DCOE's

These twin Weber 40DCOE carbs were refurbished and have only about 30 minutes of run time on them. They were mounted to a 1800cc VW engine for use on a Formula Super Vee race car, but was told that the engine really needed 45's for the best track performance.
These are Type 18's, equipped with 30mm chokes and fitted with 125 orifices in the emulsion tubes.
The carbs were taken completely apart and cleaned by a water vapor blasting process, which is why they look practically new! All hardware was cleaned and yellow cadmium plated, and a new gasket kits were installed during the refurbishment process before being installed on the engine.
The engine was started in the car but up on a rolling work stand, and had 110 octane race gas run through them. After a couple of 15 minute warm up sessions, an oil leak was discovered in the engine head gasket, so the engine was pulled and the carbs removed. That is the extent of usage for these carbs.
These are genuine Weber, not clones, copies, or licensed work-alikes!

I recommended my friend post his carbs here for sale. They appear to be for a standard or SE Elan. 30mm chokes, F11 Emulsion tubes, 125 main jets, 210 air correctors, and 50F9 idle jets.

StressCraxx (Dan) and I have been friends and competitors for many years (we first crossed swords in 2016), Dan in his Crossle Formula Ford and me in my 1969 Lotus 61 Formula Ford.

I had posted these carbs on Apex Speed, but then then Dan suggested that Lotus Elan.net would be a better place to list them.
The Ralt RT1 FSV that I have been restoring over the last several years that these carbs came from is in the final stages of preparing to hit the track. Switching out the 40's for the 45's came about because the motor in the car was 1600cc, but was them bored out to 1800cc. Several people said the 40's were going to be too small, and that the engine would starve. The engine just came off the dyno at 180+hp at 7200 rpm, so the 45's work, and there's no need to hang onto the 40's anymore.
