Final note, the OBD2 system will be ready to kick off 2021.
They are still shipping the tried and tested chip, which is set for stock configuration. So if your bigger badder etc. You may need a re-chip.
One thing is the OBD2 has o2, which will increase costs ($2-$300).
Also, to reduce brokerage fees, they will not split up a kit. Or you do not get the trouble shooting included. Still a great deal as far as I am concerned.
Most likely I am waiting for the OBD2, chat in spring!

Final final
The OBD1 or 1.5 I suspect and OBD2 are self learning, but there is a junction box which will need to go back to Patton or AFI.
Both have o2. Both self learning. So unsure why one needs to reprogram/chip?

Kit arrived, very impressed. Probably $1,700 to $1,800 in quality parts alone. Then all the machining and tuning.
Very well worth it

Jenvey does a dual injector and adaptor which fits the Stromberg head and the injectors fire directly down each port,

Yes, its the package and support that seems to have got my attention by Patton.
I think once all the bits are accounted for, the Jenvey, controllers etc is about $500-$700 more. Then, the programming. Then again, I couldn’t find any testimonials from Elan owners or any historic posts. The Patton is documented at least 3 times. Not that I am for or against GM, there are many ecm’s here in N America. MegaSquirt/MicroSquirt etc. The Patton has the O2, baro/map and software ready. Also, you can put the tops back on the carbs and it looks original.

I saw a Patton setup on a '70s Datsun Z at a local cruise-in a few weeks ago. Didn't catch much of the conversation the owner was having with somebody about it, but it sounded like he's having a good experience with it.

Nope, on holiday in Colombia for some months.
Visiting an original owner 1966 Elan, and some other interesting things. Learning lots about this great country, family has lived here 40 years, ive only been a few times. It is really so clean these days. Still crime, but should be the place in a few more years if it hasn’t been the last 10. And truly since the main export is cocaine the natural resources have remained intact. Winner.
Have laid the kit out a couple times, but I am wanting to sort the issue with the rear carb first. For what reason I dont know, guess ive put together a few other cars since then and, well, you know. 4 kids, family, life…
It all seems so simple. And easy to convert back.
Patton is confirmed good since 2013. As seen here. And for the price.

I will also say, the pre programmed should be fine long term, but a simple scan and send ECM back to Affordable Fuel Injection. And I bet this is the way to keep it classic. We will see how the duratec in the Spyder shapes up this year. Making chassis jigs so I can measure my other elan frames etc.

Sort of, the last part for testing arrived (on back order) from NAPA yesterday. Carb rebuild kit for the strombergs, I need to be sure of my data/test stream and leave nothing, it needs to be perfect before I change.
I am in the midst of kids back from University, middle school and junior. Just busy.
But, after Stu’s NoDiz issues. I understand Patton is the way forward.
1, you get the better flow from the Stromberg head, knock, baro, and I cant see any problems, as other Elan owners are very happy (wonder if I will be converting my two Webers to Stromberg so I can run Patton?
2 kids off to summer camp next week, and as 2Cams pointed out. The popping under deceleration has to do with not what I was thinking. So I will change exhaust including manifold and add wideband this fall. Putting the +2 in the shop. Unfortunately this means I will need to drive an Elise (my 7 just passed inspection but…). Oh well, life’s tough.

One thing I had been considering is how to use the 123 that is on the car.
1 I suspect the electronic ignition supplied with the Patton kit will be okay. I do not consider it top engineering. I will install the old dizzy with the Patton electronic, and will consider/work on changing over to the venerable 123 which has served me well.

Thanks for the update.
I've been puzzling over the dual injector setup and how it works with the elan firing sequence, 1-3-4-2, and the charge robbing that occurs. Did Patton provide any information on how, or if, this is handled?
With the TR6 being the initial testbed for their system the cylinder charges were evenly timed between the 2 injectors, 1-5-3-6-2-4 so there wouldn't have been an issue.

I am sure the information is on their site, if not I can scan it or upload the specs from the CD/DVD..
I will get working on it shortly.
