MT75 rubber mounting S4 Elan

Gentlemen,
I posted this question under drive train, and although I have had many read the question, I have not had a reply, so thought I should try again in this section.
I need some help with this area. The exhaust should pass along the centre of the chassis, but the rubber mount of the MT75 is in the way. I cannot find any information as to how this difficulty is resolved. Is there someone who has resolved this problem. I presume Spyder have a solution but cannot find any photos or drawings. I also hope that some of you have a car with this gearbox who can explain, or show a photo of, how this is done.
