S4 electric window motor mods

PostPost by: Stratosboy » Thu Apr 30, 2015 8:20 pm

I know there are some good alternative systems out there in S4 elans, I wonder if people would mind sharing on here the various ways they've gone in modifying from the original HUGE and heavy ford motors?
Thanks

Great subject... Hopfully we will get some good replies. They are like an egg shell with a lose lead yoke. I cringe every time i close the door

I looked into the possibility of using generic hotrod window motors but simply couldn't find the room
in the door for it all to fit.
Interesting writeup here. Nice alternative

I know there's a forum member who did fit one of the hot rod motors but it required some door mods which
I'm not about to do yet. Maybe he'll chime in. Couldn't find the thread, either.

Cheers, yes I've read a thread (from Junks I think) about his modification using Renault Clio motors and cables, but it looked quite complicated to me.
I've also seen another with a central slider bar, which looks good.
Any others out there???. I'm hoping someone has found an aftermarket motor and made up some adapter plates which can be fitted to the original Lotus cable system??
come on guys lets hear what you've got!!
