MT75 boxes

Hi

Might seem a simple question to ask but I've no prior experience of these boxes so I'm unsure what is "correct".

I'm using a MCT 75 box so details should equally apply. In the neutral position on this box the lever has a degree of "free" sideways motion rather than than being sprung into the 3rd/4th plane. In other words the lever can be moved sideways without resistance being met- other than when selecting 1st/2nd or 5th. Is this normal? I ask only because I seem to recall the lever being held in the 3rd/4th plane when I first got the box. It has no oil in it (only presumably the protective film applied by the factory) so I wonder if something is "sticking" slightly. I'd obviously like to find out before I put the box in the car.

anybody offer any ideas.

Regards and thanks

John

John?, PM me and we can figure out a way of measuring the amount of movement in the lever of my "spare" MT75 box that is useful for you.
