You remind me - Steve is - a YB turbo from memory.

Must mention it to Dave H

Brian,
Modding an Elan is fraught with pitfalls regarding taste and decency, but I'm sure that I can add a further 60k to my build and shoehorn that monster in...... it would be rude not to

Not sure it would actually fit within the width of the engine bay with those injectors hanging off one side on the long necks and that bleeding great bus turbo hanging off the other, perhaps I can just cut through the inner wings? Would need to have some sort of monster gearbox and drive train to take all that torque and perhaps the Spyder frame would need a bit of beefing up and we would need to alter the appearance of the bodyshell to fit everything in, perhaps we could make it look like a Sierra Cosworth?

As Clarkson says "How hard can it be"

BTW: I'm looking forward to taking delivery of my S4 DHC with a weedy little 220bhp Duratec fitted, but it should be a little quicker than this one depicted on Ebay with a zetec http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270696841604&ih=017&category=31359
Kindest regards

If I remember correctly, a poster started a thread where he was planning to put one of those engines (OK not full race) in his Elan.
There's been no update on the project for a very long time.
Maybe he's committed suicide or become very close friends with a very stout tree in his finished car?

Sorry if that's taken in "bad taste" (it's English black humour)

I saw an Elan with a YB advertised several years ago. It had a 20 cm tall rectangular box on the bonnet to cover the head which otherwise stood proud of the car. Not sure of the final elevation the transmission...

Nice engine but I'll stick with the BDG for now.
