Cosworth YB Turbo Into Elan
I know of a 246 HP Cosworth BDP powered Elan. That is quite crazy enough, especially before he flared the fenders to fit decent tires on it.
I suspect 400hp won't be as much fun since it will be too easy to loose it. Kind of like the early turbo esprits that didn't do much until they spun you around.

The usage of spray glue won't be a problem if you're not going to use too much of it.
When working with Resin-Infusion you're using special spray glue to fix every single layer you're putting onto your mold. All you need is a little bit more material and knowledge - Youtube is a good resource for the knowlege
The results are stunning as you get parts without any pinholes and with an almost perfect fiber to resin ratio.

Well, it would make keeping everything in place a lot easier, I will give it a try.

OK, so 520bhp is a little too much, then?

Steve, needless to say you will be feathering the throttle quite a bit with 520HP. It's an interesting excercise, your build. I'm wondering if your primarily building for the track just to blow the doors off anything that comes close

I have to say 520 bhp is just ridiculous you should have gone for the high torque 500 bhp version with the better fuel economy.
Regards
Steve
Damn, didn't think of that!

Drag racing is the main goal, with some sprints and hillclimbs thrown in, whilst keeping it UK road legal.

What aero are you thinking for hillclimbing (if any)
I think it would be a hoot

Would that knob be a fuel mixture trim?

No
It's a hydraulic clutch flow control valve. It is designed to help prevent shock loading on the transmission from abrupt clutch engagement. The valve allows the clutch to slip slightly during engagement, thus reducing shock loads and increasing the life of drive train components. It also gives the tyres a better chance of hanging on to the track.
However, the type sold by the likes of Demon Tweeks (at 5 times the cost) are only adjustable by shims and have to be removed to do so, requiring the clutch to be re-bled. This one is infinitly adjustable from the cabin
It isn't a road or race car part and I had to specify seals that were compatible with clutch fluid.

Well, this will work in conjunction with the launch control system, but I know what you mean as it would help a car sans LC.
