Cosworth YB Turbo Into Elan
Held the new screen up to the hole and it seems a little short top to bottom. Anyone got a screen lying about that they can take a central measurement from? Failing that a best guess on the car would be fine. Thanks in advance.

Mmmm, hope you haven't got an S2 one by mistake. They are a little shallower than the S3/4 ones. Are the bottom corners rounded rather than square? if so it's an S2 one. Can't measure mine at mo as away from the car, but sure someone will do so soon

Ah, that is quite possible. It measures 480mm top to bottom. I will check the corners tomorrow. I see an ebay listing in my future

Corners of screen are square and code (265) equates to S3/4 screen. Spoke to Tony Thompson who kindly measured a screen and confirmed that the S3 screen is 480mm tall. The 40mm gap must be taken up by the screen rubber.
Whilst researching this I discovered that polycarbonate screens are legal on UK roads and this would save me around 5.5Kg Downsides are that the screen is an integral part of the body stiffness and some race classes don't allow them. The new roll cage should deal with the stiffness issue and I can always revert to glass if the race class requires it.
However.......with terminal speeds around 150 I have reservations about a polycarbonate screen staying in place. I think that I will stick with a glass screen for now.

Oooooo, Ok, I am convinced. I will have enough to do without having to hold on to the screen
