Finally, engine and gearbox are back in. Roll hoop to be replaced with a full roll cage.

Next job is to get the body to fit then it is off to the cage fabricators, hopefully Monday week.

Hi Steve
Pics att'd of a cage I had in a race car which used a mount on the tunnel behind the dash.
Made a difference to the central box section stiffness

Thanks Dave, added to my collection. Confirms what we thought was a good idea.

Decided that a shield between belt and fuel lines would be sensible so I made this one today, quite pleased with how it turned out:

the equation makes me smile all over: lets start at 100hp; 200 is twice the fun, so we're looking at 4 times the regular fun - that's really ........g scary, if u ask me ---------------------- i guess this 400Ampere e-kart i once drove
would have been equally fearsome --------- whatever, sounds exilarating!! cheers sandy

Steve, I see that your crank pulley sits above the front cross member. Are you going to need a serious bonnet bulge to clear the cam cover and turbo or is that motor considerably shorter than the twink?

Nice work by the way. That's an E ticket ride for sure. :D

Thanks.

Cross member has been relieved. Engine is taller but, as I don't like bulges, the bonnet has been slightly curved to clear turbo and pulleys, hopefully.

Cam belt shield looked a bit plain so I had a session on the CNC Mill :-)

It have been a while since my last post but nothing significant has happened, just a lot of little jobs getting ready to refit the body so we can fit the full roll cage in order to get some sort of tortional stiffness.

I made a short walkaround video to show the state of play prior to the body hiding everything. Not the best quality but it does the job.
