Plugs setting with Emerald ECU

Hi Folks
Using an Emerald ( or other) ECU system on the twink with a Ford based crank trigger with wasted spark ignition using the Ford Mondeo ( I think?) twin coil pack what plug gap is suggested. The standard ignition coil with distributor uses BPR7ES (or similar) plugs suggests a gap of around 0.635mm but modern plugs used with the Ford wasted spark system seem to suggest a gap of around 1.3mm
Any Emerald users got any info?
thanks in advance for any help
regards
Bob

1.3mm being 51 thou,Ford Mondeo specs (donor for coilpack),I use 45 thou,...been O.K. so far.

Bob,
I'm running a Emerald K6, Valio coil pack, BPR6ES gapped at .033in.
Cheers

Bob,
John is correct, a hi torque starter makes life a lot easier..
Edit: if you are having trouble getting the engine to turn over do make sure that the ignition is not massively advanced. I assume it's OK with the plugs out? If so you can get a rough idea of the timing by using a strobe with the plugs out.
Cheers

Thanks John and John and others
Unfortunately had a bit of a set back. was trying to check timing with plugs out when problem started. Replaced the battery gave a bit more cranking go. Am using a Wosp gear reduction starter LMS113 specified for the Lotus Twin Cam engine. The ring gear on the flywheel has failed quite badly and so it will have to be an engine out job. The starter seems fine but the ring gear damage is very severe and it appears that the engagement of the pinion with the flywheel was only over part of its length. The starter got quite a bit noisier with the plugs out when I was trying to check the timing , the engine made 180rpm. Plugs back in then suddenly a horrible graunch at around 140rpm. Engine had not fired.
Have attached a note from my rebuild notes clearly need to look at the relative location of the flywheel and pinion. B 4 this working through the Emerald get you going notes all seeming 2 B looking good with regard to the ECU operation.
Ah well there is always something B 4 the happy final bursting into life
any advise most welcome
cheers

Although only half the pinion was engaged,it does look a long pinion, maybe fully meshed with the ring-gear?
John
P.S even with my Powerlite,I fettled a little off the starter face ring to give full mesh...
