I've seen the early casting heads

That's the early diecast head in your link that was used as the first production head. Before that Lotus sand cast the prototype heads which I think this is as it is consistent with the comments I have seen written about the prototypes and how they were changed during development. Photographs of the prototype heads are extremely rare does anyone have any?
