Whilst I haven't been banned or suspended yet it's well worth being forewarned that there is such a process for elimination - no doubt I've come close at times as I sure seem to have offended some people or at least awoken them from slumber.
Seriously though having a few weirdos and shall I say, unusual, people on this forum gives it colour (where are you El-Saturn from the Swiss Alps - I miss you). I'm sure both Chapman and Duckworth would not have been meek and mild blamange type characters.
I agree with Andy8421. If you don't like it switch off. It's a democracy. We are all entitled to get emotional at times but don't hold on to it. Let it go.
I find you posts excellent. You are passionate, and that’s great for me.
Cheers

If there's anything I hate more than being corrected when I'm wrong it's continuing to be wrong because everyone was -too polite- to correct me! And I always thought of "numbnuts" as a term of endearment.
We are supposed to be having fun, are we not?

When you, your family, your race, your ideas, your intelligence, or nationality start getting insulted…
That’s the line… for me anyway.
Heated discussion are fine, but don’t cross that line!

I'm all for not offending people particularly when you know it is hurting them (that's the important point - being perceptive to their reaction and as to whether or not it is hurting them and that's an individual case by case basis)
The danger is though that if the roundabout swings too far the other way it all becomes boring, tedious and humorless. An intellectual vacuum. People get too scared to say what they think and all the badness happens in an underhanded rather than open kind of way.
It's all about balance and it's a difficult line to tread.

I didn't see those posts before they were deleted and I can make a good guess as to who that contributor was. In a sense though I'm a little disappointed in a purely selfish way of course that I missed out on reading something a bit kinky and controversial before they were deleted !!

I find it hard to feel insulted by someone I don't care about ... yet the noise generated by insults or pointless arguments does decrease the value of the content of the forum, which I find detrimental.
