This is my Spyder Zetec plus 2 which I built in 2016 on a 1974 car which I bought without its engine. It uses all the normal Spyder parts so Sierra hubs, Type 9 5 speed box, XR4 LSD etc. The suspension was set up by Spyder and Emerald did the ECU on their rolling road. Lights are electric lift and all the bulbs are LED. The bodywork was done professionally (I have pictures) and I retained the (recovered) original steering wheel. The car is currently in North Devon.

It hasn't got the later manifold so ground clearance is quite low but it has travelled on the ferry to Spain and France with no issues.

The car has done 8,900 miles featuring long trips to Spain, France and Ireland but sadly, those sort of trips are not possible for me now and, the car is not really getting enough use.

It is in good condition and always garaged but, if I were keeping it, I would redo the door cards.

I am not well informed on the going rate for these cars but I have seen some around £30k. I am selling reluctantly and not under any pressure but, I would be interested in any offers if the car can find a good new home.

Malcolm

Hi

Looks like a very nicely done conversion indeed.

I'm in the middle of one at the moment and if I was not then yours is the sort of car I would be very interested in.

GLWS!

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

I am no expert on Plus2s, especially Spyder converted Zetecs in the UK; but I have to say this car appears to be worth much more than £20k.. I would have thought £30k?

The bodywork & paint appear to be in beautiful condition.

I don't know about the USA but in the UK we're still in Austerity mode....

I own a Spyder converted +2, the conversion cost more than £20k back in 2008 and didn’t include paint. Today’s conversion price is north of £40k. These prices don’t include the cost of the car to be converted.

I would pitch this car at £30k and negotiate to late 20’s, price higher and it will struggle, but people who are thinking of converting will see the value at £30k especially in a nice colour with tasteful interior.
Kindest regards

The cost of carrying out the conversion is irrelevant. Market forces will always rule. The car is only worth what the market will pay.
The price you ask for it depends on how serious or quickly you want or need to sell it.
I would say yes start off at £30k but be prepared to lower that price.

Thanks for all the replies which are helpful. I’ll offer the car at £30k to start with as I am not in a rush but I am realistic about market forces!

Thanks again
