I had no idea what to sell this for. I'll let the market do the work. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1965-lotus-elan-s2-8/
The details are mostly in the pictures. This car was imported to the US in 1982 with 59 thousand miles on it. Taken off the road (last registration) in 1987 for a bad clutch. I have the bill of sale from 1982, a copy of the original title transfer from a gentleman in Bristol, and my new title for the car. I was in touch with Andy Graham at the Lotus Registry, he's checked off on all the numbers matching - Body/Engine/Chassis. I'll post a few photos here - I have at least 100 photos of the car and components that are part of the deal. I'll post on a share and add that link to this post later today. Engine turns. A fair amount of the components are here - condition varies from good to bad. It's easier to discuss what's missing: seats, carpet, steering wheel, door cards. I have the top (quite rotted) and the side rails for the windows. I have the door glass safely packed. It was this color when imported so it went through a couple of color changes in the UK. I'd like to have the transaction completed and car out the door by May 10th. Otherwise I can't sell until August 15th when I return. I'm happy to provide interested buyers with detailed photos. Make a reasonable offer please.

Interesting rare wheels. Cosmic, can't remember which model, (think they're known as Mk3 or Mk4), but on this ad, page 5. They did them in 3, 4 & 5 stud versions.:-

How long did it take for BAT to post your Elan for sale? I've been waiting since March 31st for them to post my latest Elan restoration......
Good luck with your sale. If I didn't already have one project in the basement and two waiting I'd be all over this one.

I'm excited to see this next Zog listing. An S3 Elan hit BaT just this evening, as you probably know - looks like a decent car. I have a Sprite that was accepted by BaT on April 14, which I hoped would be up in another 2 weeks but maybe that's optimistic...

The S2 project featured in this post is at $6400 with 5 hours to go. Looks like a great deal to me.....
The S3 just posted on BAT looks real nice......
My S2 restoration has passed through all the paper work (on line digital?) phases and is now in BAT scheduling. I would it expect to see it on line any day now....

I think there's quite an S2 premium there, as I agree with the BaT comment that driver level Elans seems flat, and available in the 20's. Either that or we need to find some more old Cosmic wheels!
Congrats on the sale.

Hope Haydon is a member on here. My pair of S2 seats will have to wait for another project!
Now time to go eat my over cooked dinner.

Haydon is actually a business, named after Vincent Haydon who I suppose is the founder
