Lotus Elan

Elan GTS S2 Project

PostPost by: seriouslylotus » Tue May 05, 2020 8:04 pm

Here we have a stalled Elan S2 GTS race car project.
Far to much to list but basically its 98% new bought from TTR and is ALL the proper Elan gts 26R type stuff
No engine or gearbox
No wheels and tyres
No Exhaust system
No loom, dash seats belts etc etc
Rear calipers fully rebuilt by Classic Automotive and fitted with TTR alloy pistons
Complete light weight shell inc doors etc etc
All the suspension and brakes but no front calipers or master cylinders
I thought pictures would be the easiest way to show whats available
Going through the TTR catalogue the parts cost in excess of £34000

Shell is the TTR lightweight version (not super light) but with Alloy lattice frames.
Chassis is TTR 26r non high back.
Cage is the lightweight cassette version and is TIG welded

Also available with a current V5C document
ALL Reasonable offers considered
WILL NOT SPLIT PARTS only for sale as a complete project with or without V5C
Viewing available any time East Yorkshire UK
Thanks for looking
Regards
Dave

May I politely ask .
If you are valuing the project at 40K with the V5 , what are you valuing the V5 at ?

I would say the going rate for a 'title' with a V5 for a race car would be £5.5- 8 k.

If you can find one it's worth what someone will pay IF the seller will let it go for that price!

Is this a right hand drive setup or doesn't it make any difference at this point in the build? Could it be built as a left hand drive?

Currently it makes no difference
The pedal box and steering rack would be wrong, but happy to keep those kits back if that helps

I do fancy for a roadlegal Elan GTS which I can use as a tracktool on LoT Trackdays and from time to time on historic races in Germany. But need to sell my roadlegal Elise tracktool first... :(

It´s this one here:
https://classifieds.seloc.org/ads/lotus ... urbodrive/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0DAsUgZKTc
With this car you can drive below 2:40min at Spa. According to the AIM datalogs a 2:38 is possible.
And that was with the old car weight of 865kg plus driver and worn tyres.
Now 845kg and you could lose more weight if you remove the passenger seat and passenger footwell carpet.

Nice. Almost as many mods as my old S2 Exige!
What's the asking price?
