Fully rebuilt between 2004 and 2008 on a new spyder chassis,re wired with new looms and modern relays and fuses engine fully re built with QED pistons, and burton cartridge water pump, with larger ally radiator.
Sue Miller solid drive shafts, and high torque starter, stainless exhaust with custom manifold .
Re trimmed in soft Italian black leather, but we still have the original interior to include the rare plastic center console if you want to re fit it.
New head lining,dash and switches
all chrome re done etc.
She passed her test last week and runs and drives just as it should, and ,it's a shame to sell her a week before her 50th birthday but my son needs his university fees, and she has to go
This is a very early car number 57 in fact, but it has lost its Corelo rear lights, and thick chrome front window surrounds , however it does retain lots of early features, and we have replaced the lights with new ones

We have owned the car for six years and have done just a few hundred miles in the summer months every year just to keep her right. She is always garaged, and never run in the rain.
In the winter we regularly start her and warm her through, working breaks and clutch, but don't run her on the road until salt has gone

Sorry now at the classic and sports car center corner farm west knapton .
It was up for a week here first, just to give you guys a chance, but she needs to go fast
, and no PM all week, not even a comment....Come on chaps this is number 57 fully re-built, with all the rite bits from Tony Thompson and Sue Miller, you missed a great car that's just run in. Same thing happened to the previous owner. He did a great add on here, mutch better than mine with good spelling and picks , but no one came to see the car in over a year.
This is a great site that I will miss when my car is sold.
I have tuned in every week for 5 years, and feel as if I know you all well. My car has been very reliable so I haven't posted mutch, and my snails pace typing and bad spelling don't help mutch.
However it's still a good car, but now will be full price , and with a warranty. This dealer is in our village, and knows the car well . In the past he has sold my E type and my MG quite quickly. He knows how I look after my cars, and is only to happy to have one of mine

GOOD LUCK.

Hi john . I thaught you had sold yours already, l have been following, it's sale on different sites all year, and based the price for mine on yours because they would both scare off the the people who don't like modified cars, and both had osmosis in the paint, but otherwise good.
Shame they are so under-valued, compared to other classics of the era.l wonder what the Porsche 911 chassis number 57 fully restored ,or even as a barn find is worth ,both 50 this year, both 2+2s, and I know which one handles the B road blast the best:roll:
A friend in the trade told me to cover it in WD 40 , and cover it in dirt and put it in the barn under a tarpaulin for it to be discovered, but this kind of thing really should'nt be necessary.
Surounded by E types, 911s Healys, and the rest at the dealers she still looks fantastic, not outclassed at all, but is a fraction of the price of the others, so stands a good chance of selling quickly.
It reminds me of when we won the classic car show with her. See my post " my biggest shock in 2012" surrounded by all the other classics , Joe public thinks the +2 has has the best looks of the lot! So hears hopeing

Hi,

My name is Ben and I am the son of Kevin who restored the Elan and brought it back on the road.

Now this may be a very VERY long shot but would it be possible to find out where the Lotus is now? I remember spending many an evening after school and weekends holding spanner?s and helping the old man out on it and it would be brilliant to find out what happened to it.

I can see by the pictures that she has been very well cared for!

Any more information would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

Ben
