Didn't a fellow named Stan used to own this car. We corresponded several times about early FHCs, because my coupe is 5 numbers different. Mine is just this month under restoration after 30 years of storage.

I bought this from a guy named Marc in CT - sat in a barn for a number of years, he would drive and start in every few weeks but only in the summer. It may have been owned by a "Stan", but he told me he had bought it in England and imported it and owned it for about 10 years before he sold it to me a couple of years ago.

I went back and looked at the records. The car was bought by Marc in 2005 from an estate auction in Arkansas. It was imported by the late owner. I don't have his name - could have been Stan if you are referring to an owner prior to 2005. The auction docs say Marc paid $25k in 2005 at Auction - seems like a lot in 2005.

Yep - that it. The car (allegedly) was his personal car. My transaction was with him, not NECC. The car was similar to his description, but needed about 300 hours of my time to bring it to an level I thought was acceptable. I would recommend not ever doing business with Marc Evans or NECC. I'm in the car business (new BMW's) and should have know better. But I am happy with the car and have a 3000 sq ft garage with a lift - so I was looking for a project to keep busy with. I got that for sure and more.
I paid $34k for the car and have put another $6k in parts + my time (worthless). So someone is going to get a really nice car.
Thanks for posting the link to the old ad, there are some good pictures and the description is very close to what is now is, but not very indicative of what I bought.
