1965 Elan For Sale

I recently purchased my Elan, but have found it a too ambitious project for me. Priorities have changed with a very cranky wife, and unfortunately I'm offering it sale. The price is what I have into it, at $6,500

1965 Elan, barn storage for over 20 years. The last time the previous owner worked on the car was some time ago. The body and chassis were hoisted separately to the rafters and mostly forgotten. Some history and invoices with shop manuals etc.

Registration signed for new owner, and the car is in Toronto, Canada.

-Restored chassis, galvanized, with new bushings etc. Needs new Rotoflex couplings (provided) installed .
-Rebuilt engine, 10 over. Turns by hand
-Transmission original
-Gas tank epoxied
-The car appears complete, ancillaries, carbs, seats, dash, etc, all unmolested with the exception of epic barn dust and period wheels. New seat covers and top included. .
-Body is good with no crazing, but has a stress crack on LR fender lip, and damage to RR dogleg, trunk floor, & around exhaust exit. I assume this was from how the car was stored and when it was lowered from the loft.
-Doors are very nice, with windows, cards, latch mechanism all present and working.
-Engine compartment looks surprisingly good as does headlight mechanisms. Hood and nose are excellent.

Body has been placed on the chassis and is a roller. More pics and data plate to come.

Wow. I am soooo glad this is not in Cal, or any nearby Western State. I would likely have to risk home expulsion. Maybe I can live in the truck, although that would be tougher now that the camper is gone. Sometimes I think it would be better for my health if I just did not know about things like this.

I saw it the day it was listed and missed it then...and once again missed it....oh man....
