1964 Lotus Elan 1600 roadster
US64 260247
An early Elan - perhaps the purest form, no window frames, round tail lights, weber carburetors.?
I've owned this Elan for 8 years. It had a full body off restoration by the previous owner, completed in 2003. A very meticulous restoration.
Driven to car shows with my local British car club and on nice weekends (the mountain roads in my area are perfect for an Elan).? Less than 4,000 miles since the restoration, the odometer now reads 72,543 miles.? Not a trailer queen but a well restored and well maintained example.
Located near Asheville, North Carolina. $30,900
Notes:
Rotoflex couplings and rear axles replaced with RD Enterprises CV joints and axles.
Spyder sill members installed (attached to the original Lotus Frame).
Spyder rollover bar included but not installed.
Please contact me via email.

The previous owner purchased a Lotus replacement body shell due to the condition of the original shell.

I have a listing up on Hemmings now. 24 higher resolution photos.
I've gotten several replies from Elan.net so perhaps the Hemmings listing wasn't needed. Still the photos should help with questions on the car.

Very nice indeed!
Question: I am looking for that bellows water connection as you have at the radiator top connection. Do you know a source?

I don't know of the source for the bellows hose.
Which vendors have you contacted so far?

Pretty car, but surely it's a Roadster, not a Drop-Head Coupe?

Golden Gate Lotus parts reference list's it as a Gates "Vibraflex" #23520. Just looked it over myself on general elan discussions section here.

I agree with you - the Type26 cars were roadsters
