Hi Members,
This is my first post. I should start off by saying I know very little about the Lotus brand, I am a Cooper S guy, have one of every year 63-67 MK1 all restored. I live in a small town in Northern California and around town I am known as a British car guy. I guess this is why a nice lady called me one day asking for help. Her sister had died and she had two Lotus cars in the garage for 27 years. The last registration sticker is 1985 on the Ca. plate of the Elan +2.
I do not know why she stopped driving them. I went to the house and with some help got them on trailers to get back home. They were stored in a garage all these years, not out side. The +2 is yellow and has an S molding on one side and a number under the windshield that is 0219/N+ It has the big valve motor by the valve cover markings. The car is really in good shape. I put in a used battery, cranked oil pressure, got spark with new points, flushed the fuel system and the car started on the first try with a squirt of starter fluid. It sounds great no unusual noises from the motor, it smokes some, no leaks to speak of. That is as far as I am willing to go as I have plenty of my own cars to work on.
The car has 56,000 miles and I bet that is accurate. It even has brand new ( 27 years old) Pirelli Cinturato tires, when did the stop making those ? The chrome is pretty good inside, seats are really nice.
I am a Mini enthusiast and would like to see a Lotus enthusiast get the car and make it a driver; my gut feeling is that it will not take much to be driving the car. I have a clear current title for the car.
I helped the lady out with a new heater for her house and that was $7,000 so that is my price. Looking at the really bad Elans I have scene on E Bay this seems fair so no lower offers please.
Contact me if interested and want some pictures.

Thanks,
Mike

OK,
I think more of you guys want to know about the OTHER Lotus, it is a 69 DHC Green. I have not had any time to look at it, still in the trailer but it looks pretty good to me. I do want to sell this one first , + 2 as my shop at home is just about filled so no room to do any work on it, and it is a 2,000 SF shop.
I will have my tech at work help me with pictures as I am hopeless at computer stuff, I am old school, points and condenser guy.
