Someone needs to love this little car
Not at that price - ouch!
wasn't it up for sale at a mere ?30k last time around and hung around for a while at that price. that's some mark up after only 4/5 months ownership
What really made me chuckle was the location of the current seller

To be fair we don't know exactly what improvements the current owner has completed (apart from a leakproof cam cover ) but to obliquely suggest 'Crook' even in jest because of the increased price isn't very nice IMHO. I've spoken to and corresponded with Peter and he seems a genuine guy to me. I reckon I'd be a bit narked if it that was said about me.

OK maybe a little bit tongue in cheek of me but seriously the advert actually states the following
Since My Ownership I have Had The Following Done;
New Fuel Pump, New Plugs, Carbs Set Up With The Correct Jets.
That's one hell of a labour rate to justify the price hike if that's all that has been done
However, if someone wants a nice Colorado Orange Elan then this is one that is available

Rob only pointed out what a few of us were thinking. The location of the seller is quite funny in an English schoolboy humour way.
Perhaps the car was underpriced to start with. I'm still not convinced that matching numbers and as it was when it left the factory actually increases the value. A nice car is a nice car, who cares if it had a roof originally, it's now a more desirable soft top version and looks to be nicely sorted.
Shame about the colour, Pistachio would have raised the cost.

True, but price now seems to be a more reasonable ?32,500, that's some price reduction in the space of 48 hours
and I'm not asking anyone to justify anything just pointing out facts, people can take from them what they will, it is after all a forum and they are for the sharing of information are they not?
BTW I think it is a lovely looking car, just for the record

IMHO, for that price I would still like everything working, to sell a car with the electric window not working is just wrong. Fix it then sell it.(or reduce the price - a lot!)

Well spotted! It's probably just the switch or the motor needs refurbing, but a very fiddly job and not one you would expect to have to do at this price point. Having had a similar problem that was narrowed down to a faulty switch I know personally what a total pain it was to fix and the switches are no longer available new ( thanks Steve for the replacement).
PS: the stripes are not good either.... look at the rear where it disappears into the bumper. Hate the wing mirrors as well, but I suppose that's a throwback to its Japanese existence.

Thanks for all your nice friendly comments! It's great to be a part of a Friendly Forum.... NOT!!
I don't see why I should justify myself to you all but here goes;
My circumstances have changed dramatically over the last month, my house sale fell through and as I purchased another I have to sell the Elan which I really didnt want to do to.
As far as price wise, Ive seen cars on her that have had fire damage, need a total repaint and still they were asking ?25K for it which to me was expensive but I never replied this on the threads.
I know my cars paintwork is excellent, I purchased some stripes off a gentleman on here and was going to get the white paintwork refreshed along with the new stripes. This would transform the car and would be worth every penny of the asking price imho.
A car will only sell if the price is right, if mine is too expensive then it won't. I believe it's a fair price for a nice car as I have seen whats available out there.

Peter,
point taken and I apologise for making unfriendly comments about your car. I don't think it is over priced and as you rightly point out, it won't sell if the price is wrong.
Good luck and happy new year!

That attitude is a bit precious Peter!
Spyder fan and I may differ on an occasional point but he is only indicating issues that other, potential buyers, would also notice.
Yes it is a Friendly Forum, if you don't want an answer, don't ask the question.
You posted it on here for sale - what did you expect?

"I DID NOT POST IT ON HERE FOR SALE AND I WAS NOT ASKING FOR AN ANSWER AND NEVER ASKED THE QUESTION"....Another forum member copied and pasted the advert from another website!!
