Hi everybody.
I am the proud owner of elan+2 130/ 5. Reg no ppu 244 m which I bought in Northern Ireland in 2005. Due to work and other commitments apart from taking it out for short trips I haven't had time to give it the attention it deserves. Now retired I'm getting to do some servicing. The car has a galvanised chassis and obviously has had a lot of work done on it. The problem is I don't have any history for the car whatsoever. I would very much appreciate if anyone on here can help me with this.
Thank you all for this wonderful forum, Noel

It was still on the original chassis when I had it. It had oatmeal trim with cloth inserts.
I may have some pictures somewhere.
I remember very early one Sunday morning, covering 200 motorway miles in little over two hours. It would sit at 100mph in 5th at ease.
The guy I sold it to gave me a ride in his Miura.

One of the last Elan Plus 2S 130/5. Like many in that batch, they have a 7312####L VIN, but did in fact roll off the line in Jan and Feb 1974. I believe this was to get around newly introduced EU vehicle rules.
The car was originally Purple, sometimes called Roman Purple, which was a 1970s Porsche and Aston colour too.

Thank you Guys so much for your feedback, I can't believe it so prompt.
Car still has oatmeal interior and is in reasonable condition, dashboard etc is very good, carpets are getting tatty. Paintwork has usual pimples here and there but is presentable.
At the moment I'm rebuilding the brakes and clutch hydraulics.
It appears to have had a lot of work done when the chassis was replaced as everything is in good condition. I would just love to know what was rebuilt renewed etc mechanically.
Milage is now 70090.
Again Thanks everyone

I imagine the fellow from Cosworth did much of the work to it, but that would have been more than thirty years ago.
I recall taking RPW to an auto jumble at Alexandra Palace and a young man in a new XR3i or RS1600 asked me if I'd do a straight swap, I laughed, but he said he was serious.

This is the car that RPW shared a garage with

And yes, I did get a ride in it.

And always welcome on a miserable day like this.
Pretty cool though, finding out that your car had a new chassis fitted by the works manager at Cosworth.
