Serious enquires only please this is an awful lot of Car and Parts
The Car is in the UK I have owned it for a long number of years.
My email is [email protected]
I will email photos and any other information you require.
What you get :-
Lotus Elan S4 1969 Type 45 (not a Type 36 FHC Conversion)
All suspension has been re bushed and re-assembled with Copper Slip. All wheel bearing changed using Timkin Bearings not cheap alternatives. New link bushed and ball joints.
New Disk all round.
New Front Calipers (From Girling Racing) not cheap Chinese Ebay items.
Rear Calipers all with stainless steel pins and pivots.
The old calipers front and rear come as sparer?s.
Adjustable Shocks from Tony Thompson all round.
Fitted with a Mazda 6 speed gearbox (Neil Myers)
I have a bullet box if needed.
Solid Drive shafts
Diff 3.55 The original 3.77 comes as a spare.
Spare 3.77 Crown Wheel and Pinion.
Cruises at 3000rpm at 70 MPH in sixth very comfortable
Looking in the cockpit you would not know it?s not the original gearbox change is same place and is Lotus.
Engine
1700cc Tall Block 140/145 BHP
40 DCOE Carbs just refurbished.
Cam 420 with Verneer cam sprockets
Inlet Valves 1.625
Exhaust 1.375.
(Spare of each.)
Forged Pistons
Cassette water pump (early one from David Bean lots of welding)
Oil pressure it runs at about 60 lbs.
60-2 Trigger wheel on an alum crank sprocket with plate and block for timing sensor with sensor fitted. Thus very simple to convert to wasted spark currently has new type 43 distributor fitted.
Kenlow Fan with variable temp control.
10 row Oil Cooler
Radiator has been re cored.
The top hose and filler neck are my own versions and work really well.
The well-known Elan cooling issue as been completely solved in this car it does not overheat. It?s a very simple fix if anybody wants to know how ask. (Cost to fix few pence)
Front,Rear and Main loom all rewired and earthed front to rear.
Sub Frame (its not a chassis) I think is orginal its fine nothing wrong with it all crevasses have been either filled with wax oil or Dinotrol
5 new knock on Minilite wheels from Tony Thompson.
and
5 Original Lotus wheels in good condition.
Spare set of new spinners.
All instruments have been to Speedy Cables to be renovated.
New Classic dash, I have had the extra instrument hole in to for the clock. (Not Lotus but a Jaguar one) also a slot fitted for the bonnet release cable to allow easier removal.
Spare new (never fitted) Walnut Dash with DIN radio slot and extra 2inch instrument hole
Radio is a Becker Indianapolis Sat Nav, Blue tooth etc CD and a CD Changer fitted in the spare wheel in the boot.(its brilliant)
Soft top is original and in very good condition
Tonneau Cover correct Elan one.
New seat covers and door cards
It also comes with its original engine. Needs a rebuild but could easily be returned complete with its Stomberg?s if required everything is there.
Two spare crankshaft and rods two sets of sprint cam shafts and followers and a set of SE cams.
Enough parts to mostly build a spare third engine including a very nice Stromberg head.
(block, sump etc.)
Lots of spare valves etc.
A new (never unwrapped) Tony Thompson road roll over bar.
Now the down side.
I have lost the history of this car.
The nose needs to be repaired cost less than ?700
The starter needs sorting out. Has a WOSP high torque fitted.
Webers and timing need setting up.
Once that has been done I planned to do the following
Fit an inertia switch to the fuel pump.
Fit a Normally Closed Vac valve to the headlight vac system to open when lights are switch on.
Remove the Vac switch and use the hole for a fuel pump switch.
It could do with a new centre consul

Come on, don't leave us hanging... I'm sure we'd all love to know how you fixed the "well-known Elan cooling issue" for just a few pence, given that in your advert you've clearly stated that the standard cooling system has been entirely replaced.... unless all that expensive kit cost you just a few pence, of course

Forgive my cat everyone, they were her thoughts.
These are mine. How can anyone know if they can make a serious enquiry if the price is not advertised? I am aware that you do not have to give a price when you sell something on the site, but I can asure you, it helps the sale.
Some folk will not enquire if a price is not shown who may otherwise be interested, and it would save your time and enqirer's who do ask, but cannot afford it when you tell them privately. And to give you a personal example. when Alex Black was selling his car, he never mentioned a price. I wanted to buy the car but thought it would be a fair bit more expensive than it actually was, so I never enquired. My bad and he sold it elsewhere.
As I said, just my thoughts as a not interested party but good luck with it. And as our friend from Germany asks, pictures sure help a sale along.

Some sites require a price be posted for every item listed. Otherwise, the ad will be removed. I rather like that policy.
