Lotus Elan +2s 1970

PostPost by: carrierdave » Thu Aug 30, 2018 2:14 pm

This car came up for sale over 14 years ago as a barn find. In 1975 the car developed a clutch issue and the owner pushed it into the barn where it stayed until I purchased it in 2004.
I have the original green log book that shows 3 previous owners; me being the fourth on the new V5c.
It has had a replacement chassis, all new suspension and brakes plus spider rear drive shafts.
The engine has sprint cams, larger valves and burton replaceable front water pump. Headlights have been converted to electronic motors, although I will give the new owner the pods and vacuum switch to convert it back. I have also converted it from dynamo to alternator.
Seats are in good shape with no tears and the interior look good; window motors work well.
The car has the original rear screen with the Tollgate sticker on it (Tollgate were the Lotus agents in Sussex) as well as the original number plate which has Tollgate Engineering on it. The rear heated screen has vertical elements which is unusual but it doesn?t work.
Selling as I just haven?t used it enough in all the time I have had it.
I?m based in Rochester, Kent and am looking for offers in the region of ?15,000.00

Please PM if you are interested.

Hi Dave,

Apologies for the posting, but I have only just joined the forum and can't PM you.

I assume your elan is still for sale? I currently have an M100 and now looking to buy a +2 to keep her company that won't cause me too many headaches. Can you let me know when the chassis was replaced / engine work done? I would also appreciate a few more photos, if you have some.

I assume that you will be able to PM me?

Kind regards,

Mark
