Phil, when it's dry, yes, it looks burnt sand, but when it's wet, it really POPS and looks more like Colorado orange, thus my confusion...

I see what you mean - http://www.taylormadeclassiccars.com/plus2sbrown.html
Just keep it wet!!
What does the bottom right hand corner of the vin plate say:
There should be a code,L06 for Burnt Sand & L014 for Colorado Orange... Based on the other pics & the year I am leaning toward Colorado Orange, the original color of my Sprint. It can look Milky, but when it pops it's very nice!
Looks like a nice car btw

I suspect that it is LO 10 Bahama Yellow. Lots of the 1970/71 Federal +2s were in that colour. Burnt Sand was discontinued in Oct 70, before this car was built. It was also a very rare colour for Federal cars.
Ted, I'd also be interested in knowing the Engine No too, if you'd be kind enough to relay that please.

Tim and Jim win the prize! The code is L10
also found it to be a "matching numbers" original engine # I24223
that first digit is the capital letter "i", not a number "1".

Slowtus -- I like folks with a sense of humor. You are correct in that "equipped" and "working" are two totally different words with different meanings. Yes, it is equipped, no it is not working.
A/C components are there, some mounted, others in trunk. Car is a "restoration" project, not a driver in the least.
VERY complete description, 80 pictures and all your questions will be answered if you look at my "hobby" website listed below my signature.
thanks for checking and looking forward to hearing from you soon.

as promised, it is now posted to EbayMotors
https://www.ebay.com/itm/292526147631?s ... 1555.l2649
Compare this to the two other Plus2's out there 1) the carcass currently offered for sale on the west coast by BHCC and 2) the restoration project offered for sale on the east coast by GWMC.
I'm right in the middle (price-wise, not geographically). Feel free to make an offer.
