For Sale
1968 Lotus Elan +2 (50/0456) left the factory in April 68 for the Lotus dealer in Preston
This car is my 3rd Elan +2 and has been with me for 6 years during which time it has been an absolute joy.......
The car was rebuilt by Chris Neils the Lotus Dealer in Northwich for the previous owner in the early 2000?s in excess of ?32,000.....for which I have all the receipts........
Included in this rebuild was a chassis change, engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild, complete body restoration and repaint and a complete new interior (in cream Conoly Hide)
The car had also had new side rails fitted, Luminition ingnition, stainless exhaust and additional electric cooling fan (only fitted as a precaution for the cars first trip to Le Mans Classic in 2012....just incase the weather was exceptionally hot........and the car never needed it....but Ive never taken it off).....the car has been fitted with an alternator....it also has a period Lucas battery cut off
The car now shows just over 9000 miles on the clock which is from the rebuild
The car has at present got the later +2S/130 alloy wheels fitted as I prefer these to the standard steel wheels.......however I do have the original steel wheel which were restored/powder coated in correct ?silver? and fitted with new Dunlop Street Response tyres
The car is completely standard and original as I have tried to keep it so with the exception of the interior which would have originally been black vinyl
I have added Porsche 356 racing mirrors rather than the original bullet type which I didn't feel suited the car.
I have put all the switch gear back to factory spec as well as the steering wheel......but I do have a MotaLita if you prefer aftermarket.
The car really must be seen to be appreciated and gets comments and look from all whether it be at car shows or on the road.
The car is currently valued at ?35,000 by the insurer and his inspection Engineer who came and gave it the report.
I am looking for ?25,000 ideally but am also looking for the car to go to a good home so naturally this number will be flexible
Please feel free to drop me a line with any questions
Thanks
Gareth
