1973 Elan Plus2 S project - SOLD

PostPost by: tedtaylor » Sat Nov 11, 2017 2:20 am

Either a VERY ambitious restoration project, or a very good PARTS car? Fairly complete, but needs total nut/bolt restoration through and through. Comes with a Connecticut Bill of Sale. 50+ detailed pictures on my "hobby" website showing the good and the bad.
Frame has rust, engine stuck (working of freeing currently soaking cylinders), all glass good, good rear bumper, only 28K miles, all gauges, engine bay quite original and unmolested, K/O wheels.

Wish you were closer Ted!
Parts alone worth lot more than that.

The makings of the ultimate Elan mod project. Take a derelict Plus 2, find a S1/S2 fairly junk body and break out the sawsall, a bunch of fiberglass, a couple of gallons of resin, then find a 2.5 Duratec, a 6 speed, and create a maxi Elan. That should put everyones pants in a twist.

If someone on the other side of the pond would only have interest if I got a title for it (for export purposes), I'd consider doing that for an additional $500 and 3 months holding it. Contact me if that would consummate a sale for exportation.

Hopefully to be restored, not broken up?

his first thoughts were for the engine as a spare at first, but he feels the car is too complete to part out and is thinking of restoring it. Either way, I know it is in good hands. Sold to a previous customer of mine who bought my S3 DHC a couple years ago.
