I've come top the conclusion, regrettably - that it's time for me to sell my nearly completed zetec spyder elan.
I have another project I want to move onto and need the cash to do it.
I bought this 4 years ago and have put many hours into getting it to this point, just needs cooling and fuel systems sorting out and it's finished.
car has V5 - registered in 1967 as an S3, although re-bodied and in sprint colours
Almost everything on the car is new, including a new S4 dhc body tub.
door fames re-chromed, all other chromed parts are new.
1.8 ford zetec engine with new Kent cams, new clutch, timing belt/water pump kit - expected output 170 bhp.
4x4 sierra 5 speed gearbox with LSD,
new stainless steel exhaust with twin pipe silencer.
new willwood brakes discs, calipers, pads and stainless hoses.
full Spyder suspension and new 4 bolt hubs, with new 14" Minilite wheels, with unused Yokohama s-line tyres.
Spyder side protection bars and roll cage.
bespoke Spyder fuel tank mounted between rear suspension pillars
Jenvey throttle bodies, trumpets and dome filter.
new (painted) hard top and new and soft top.
too much to list
bills and receipts for over ?22,000
more photos and info on request
Best offer over ?25,000

Hi Stratosboy,
Nice looking car! Where are you located? Any chance of posting a picture of the engine bay?

Hi John,
what do you want to know? - this gearbox was fitted to the car when I bought it, as an unfinished project, so not by me, but very well put together by the previous builder Mark.

No John,
I think this gearbox was decided on for the ratios, but iin this set up is rear drive only.
I think the final drive is from the Ford Scorpio and has LSD.

Hi Dave,
looks great, this car must be a monster, but what happens to the ride high?
I looks much to high, like a cross car.
Can you post some pictures from the inside of the car (dashboard, seats,...) tanks.

Hi Mario,
yes the car is sitting very high, it has never had the suspension properly set up. it needs lowering. The wishbones are not tightened up yet.
pics as requested below, there is also a fuller build thread on here, with lots more pics - under 'mods', you may have to search for it.
fuel tank:
dashboard: (this is non standard and uses VDO gauges, - new (Westfield loom throughout car)
seats:
