Paint work .
The original paint work suffered from micro blistering caused when in storage by the extreme cold winter weather 5 + years ago.
Back to gel coat repaint at massive cost was completed 3 years ago and is in stunning unmarked condition.
Whilst the body was stripped the sill reinforcing wires were replaced with new ones.
The previous owner had this Elan Sprint for 20 years , previous to him the Elan was owned by a Newcastle Lotus dealer for a number of years who bought it for his daughter.
I have owned the Elan Sprint in excess of 5 years.
Masses of bills and believe it or not a stamped up service history ( By previous Lotus dealer/ owner ).
Since restoration I have covered 350 miles , 'its new'!
Comes with some original tools ,tool storage bag, original jack and hessian carry sack.
Reason for sale ?
I want to start the restoration of my 1964 S1 Elan.

?40K
Expensive but anyone restoring one of these perfectly will be aware of the costs.
More photos to interested parties .

Not expensive, imho, when one looks at the price of the likes of TR4 and other inferior tin boxes of the same vintage.
Cheers,
Pete.

No Ted, It's Tawny Brown Metallic ...
Burnt Sand is the color of that S4 that you sold to Uruguay - http://www.lotuselan.net/forums/lotus-elan-f19/1969-dhc-from-uruguay-restored-t34556.html

Several people interested in my 1973 Elan Sprint FHC have requested photo's of bonnet , boot and door shut lines plus requests to see more of the engine bay , the photo's of the engine bay are not very good but I can assure everyone that there are no oil or water leaks , the engine bay is as new as is the rest of the car.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Hello and my apologies to the person with the Scottish accent ( Kenny , Colin ? ) who telephoned last week and left a message for a call back .
Sadly I cannot make out your message or the telephone number you left as it was a very poor line.
If you still want me to contact you please could you call again preferably on my mobile .
Much appreciated
Greg.

My car .
I'v not been contacted by Mr Matty yet to confirm the sale but fingers crossed.
I did advertise it privately at much less money, was quite surprised that I only had one genuine enquiry who turned out to be a car trader.
Obviously and quite rightly Mr Matty is charging commission.
Goes to show good cars always sell even if I say so myself .
On with the rebuild of my S1 and S3 .
I wonder if I will ever get time to enjoy one of my rebuilds. Sound familiar?

I don't have disclosure of the 'sold' price but can confirm that I got my asking price from Paul Matty.
My Sprint was sold to the new owner with warranty , full service / inspection and any work being completed as per new owners spec.
It should be noted that the only interest I received via many for sale adds on the internet , classic car sites , magazines etc was via 2 traders one of whom offered ?25,000.00 without viewing my car.
It was a breath of fresh air dealing via Paul Matty's , spot on to buy and sell through.
I have absolutely no association with Paul Matty Sports cars but credit where credits due , hope he doesn't sell up any time soon.
