Tudor style Washer and Recoup bottles

PostPost by: l10tus » Mon Dec 30, 2024 10:56 pm

Trying to obtain a couple of bottles, I recently purchased a new genuine item from Tudor direct, but was disappointed that it's quite a bit smaller than the original.

The new bottle is 3" dia. (75mm in degrees Centigrade) - whereas the original bracket is sized to accomodate a 3.5/8" or 93mm dia bottle.

The original bottles sold by the usual suspects were approx 2 pints capacity, but the puny little new ones are probably only half that?

Most of the usual stockists are out of stock of the replacement ( looks a little different to a genuine Tudor one) large bottles. Or seem to be charging rather high £50 prices each, for the similar replacements.

I spoke to Tudor and they only stock the small one now.

Any suggestions please?

An original recuperator bottle in good condition, correct size, correct screen printed label, correct lettering on the underside, recently sold on ebay for £125, a maiden bid. I have to say that I was a bit surprised that the seller, a good chap, received that bid, but I did not realise that the original bottle size was NLA. A bit miffed that I sold some a while ago.........for much less. Who knew.
