Rivals

I haven't seen anyone mention it, but does anyone on here own the yellow S4 (?) DHC Elan that has featured several times on "Rivals" (on Disney+ I think?) Most notably a dropped clutch getaway on gravel outside a stately home. Reg is ALP 298H.

Advisory - this is a dramatisation of an 80s Jilly Cooper "bonkbuster", Riders, so is a bit racey in places. It is ridiculous but the actors look like they're enjoying it!

I watched the first three episodes last evening and thought it all great fun, not to be taken too seriously!

It seemed to me that the Elan was painted in a more modern Lotus yellow. I noted it was fitted with a Lenham hardtop, too.

It's always great to see an Elan or any Lotus featured on TV or film but for a show set in 1986 the choice of a 1969 Lotus Elan is a bit strange but very welcome. I wonder what a young female TV producer of that era would have been driving; Golf GTI, 205 GTI or maybe a convertible Mercedes?

This show is great fun as long as you are not too prudish and has a great cast of actors and cars.
