Bob Dove Motorsports, Barnstaple, Devon.
The only one I have personal experience of would be JW Engines (James Wile), ex John Smirthwaite Motorsport., but he's in Tamworth. He rebuilt my standard S3 S/E motor into a little frecracker.

Does anyone here know who used to do the engine machining for Miles Wilkins?

I would suggest phoning Miles he's retired now so i don't see a problem.
For sure you need someone who preheats the Head very slowly and uses Liquid Nitrogen to cool the Seats.

Not exactly close to you, but I have been pleased with work done by Serdi UK in Uxbridge. They are at least on your side of London. I originally made the mistake of using a company (Coventry Boring and Metalling) who were convenient but made a mess of fitting the valve seats. Better travelling further than doing it twice.

Might be worth giving Eddie Thompson a ring at TTR and see who he uses or reccomends. There is a guy in Lichfield who has done a couple of jobs for me Gery Wainwright but don't know anyone Lotus wise down your way.
