I particularly like the colour coded flanges to match the gold leaf stripe
Received today via Parcel Farce.
Anyone from UK ordering take note...
When the Australia Post trail dries up go straight to Parcel Farce with the same tracking number and hey presto.
If you want to speed up delivery rather than wait for the customs and fees invoice to come in the post then...
Call PF on the phone with the tracking number then ask for the customs charge number 17 digits...
Then go back on line and pay..Bonkers carry on.
Thanks again Col they do indeed look fantastic and way too good to use..like the rest of the car

Thanks Simon,
I was also expecting the customs duty/vat etc to be more than that. So not too bad at all really in that respect.
I guess somewhere though there is an additional 20% UK Vat payable on the CV's themselves?
Anyway, Good luck with the fitment of them. Keep us posted how it goes and drives afterwards please.

Simon,
I thought that VAT number looked wrong. VAT standard rate is 20%, so about twice the number you have listed.
I did some digging, and apparently classic cars (not sure of the definition) benefit from a reduction in VAT to 5%. Not sure if that applies to parts, or only whole cars.
"A reduced VAT rate of 5% applies to the importation of qualifying classic cars. Classic cars are for VAT purposes defined as cars at least 30 years old. HMRC also allow the reduced import rate for a car not more than 30 years old where it is: extremely rare."
Does anyone on here have any VAT expertise who could comment?
Thanks,
Andy.
Edit: Another question for those with expertise in this area, didn't we sign a 'free trade' deal with Australia - so why is there duty to pay? Thanks.

Andy,
I have always thought, probably wrongly it seems, that the reduced 5% Vat rate only applied to imported classic cars and did not apply to parts?
Slightly different I know but when buying modern car parts from Germany I now post Brexit end up paying 20% Vat so I was expecting Simon to have paid the same on these parts from Australia.
Can anyone clarify the position on this?
Alan.

I couldn’t face reading 1371 pages of Leach’s Tax dictionary for the tax definition of AVTUR (and I’m sure the paperwork wasn’t soaked in kerosene )…

Just got my Sprint reassembled after painting.
Put it on the double Scissor Jack/Lift so already to fit the "goodies" from Col.
Should be next week.

Just removed Rotoflexes passenger side, no problem and still in good condition.
Very easy to assemble CVDS with no bad language and a real pleasure. Checked Brake Disk for runout and all systems go.
Tomorrow Driver's side to do with pleasure.
I'll put the Rotoflexes on the same Shelf as the Dynamo and "stick-on" Sidewinder lol

Both sides CVDS done. Disks runout checked ok. On Driver's side "failsafe pin" to cut off on driveshaft. Needed to be careful not to leave too much metal to touch dustsheild on CVDS Adapter plate.
I seperated inside adapter plate assembled to Diff. Let Chapman go down to low position and slide outside adapter studs through driveshaft and brake disk.
Lifted suspension/chapman with jack under. Popped in 6 capheads to attache to inside adapter.
Nice easy job.
