Thanks - they look good
Can you fit them from outside without taking off door cards etc ?

Sebrings come with several mounting options. I would check out which one suits. Personally I like them flat mounted.
I cannot remember, but maybe the ‘pied’ mount can be made outside, but I would very much suggest against it on your car. Self tappers and grp not good bedfellows.

IIRC I used self tappers holding onto a single sheet fastener clip on the inside, which are made of thin spring steel so conform well to the curve of the door and so far have been enough for the light weight of a Vitaloni...

The Sebrings are the typical choice for an Elan.
Based on a post I found here, I got these and I really prefer the look. They're from a Ferrari Dino, but they don't cost like one.

I believe the original mirrors were Talbot Berlin Jr. They certainly look the part.

I had a mirror previously mounted in the same location. It wasn’t a Sebring and its adjustment was very limited. Therefore I had a good view of the tarmac and not much else.
So it was removed at respray time. I’m also keen to see proven suggestions
Thanks
Richard

I heard that the factory did not fit door mirrors, they were a dealer's-Choice item.

I have ordered these having read other posts also.
“Clamp-On Stainless Steel Quarter Light Rectangular Stadium Rear View Mirror “
Low risk if I don’t like then as clip on to window frame

Previous owner fitted Tex Bullet mirrors on the front wings of my car:
Too far away from the driver to be of much use!
I think mirrors need to be fitted on the door or door frame to be of any practical use, as fitted by Lotus distributors here in the US (Federal requirement) & as shown on Ted Taylor's old car (the blue sprint I posted a picture of before.)
