McCoy would like to post again and give pointers but…..

Seems McCoy tried to re-post on the forum years ago but for some reason his password would not take. He tried to get ahold of the moderator but received no answer so just gave up and has been off for years.
Has anyone been in that situation where the “I Forgot Password” prompt would not register? There is a “Resend Activation E-Mail” prompt and does this help? Or does reregistering again work?
It seems he is motivated to start posting again to clear up some misconceptions and answer your questions. Might kick some new blood into the forum and bring back some of the old-timers.
Thanks,
Roy

Yup, this is (needs to be) pretty much a constant on sites such as these...following threads can be a little more difficult but worth the effort.
Are we talking John McCoy of Omnitech here?

I dont think new passwords have worked for years. You take the password your given and save it (copy-paste)

Therein may lie the problem if new passwords have not been working (system glitch?). May have to reregister with a new ID as a last resort. Tried to E-Mail the administrator but no response so far.
Yes, John McCoy of OmniTech. He could provide some valuable insights on engine building, differentials, clutches, and racing tips.

The site has at times had issues with people who may have a commercial interest posting their knowledge and their passwords "not working" and the moderator not replying. Not sure why this has been the case but a similar thing happened to others around the same time and they were able to login again recently so maybe things have changed.
I guess it is a grey area around what is "advertising" versus what is "contributing"
cheers

Yes Rohan, good point. I was originally thinking the same thing since his is a commercial venture and the board is mostly populated by “amateurs”. I can vouch that advertising is the last thing on his agenda as the shop is doing well. I think he mainly wants to post to clear up some misconceptions on his personal theories on twincam engine building.

I don't consider myself an "amateur" just a professional who does not charge for his services in this particular engineering area as preservation of the joy of driving an Elan and the sheer beauty of the Lotus Twincam overrides all other considerations and I am sure that is Johns motivation also

Jeff Cocking contacted me with my long lost user name and password, Thankyou Jeff. Apologies, I should have just started fresh.
Possibly way back, possibly when the site was established, I created a user name, dropping the t in Omnitech for some reason,,,,, dyslexia,,,, No idea where the password came from, certainly more creative than my standard go to.
Anyway, I’ll find time to respond to a couple posts that need bit more info to get right.
