Mazzer - I am not sure! As far as I know it is what it came with in 1966. I do have the 3:1 cwp though.

TGB has a 3.1 diff.

If you have a close ratio then 1st would be good for probably 55mph.

I don't use more that 6000rpm at most. This gives 44.3 in first, 65.4 in second and 94.6 in third. If I could pull 8000 rpm that would give 175.4 in top!!! Jeeesh!

Sounds like you have the later box. The close ratio with a tuned motor and a 3.5 is perfect for fast road use, but I think this set up might struggle with some of the Alpine passes. I know you have a tuned 1700 motor so you should be laughing.

Tim - yes - perhaps not! But with the 3:1 I get a fairly relaxed 80 mph at 3500 rpm and that is what I need for long cross Europe jaunts - if they will let us in!!
