Just seen this on FB and thought it might be of interest to you guys (there's not much info just yet, but enough to keep me on the hook at least!):

The guys have just finished a Mk1 escort for Gordon Murray so I wonder if he has had a hand in this new project in any way?

Interesting. Just watched a couple of the latest YouTube videos this morning from Retropower, on a new Cortina build, along with a trip through the shop showing some of their in-the-works projects.

I'm a big fan of Retropower, they do high quality work! Looking forward to how this one turns out, along with their Mk2 Jag.

A Millington 2.7 in a lightweight Elan is going to be fun!

If going that far when why not add a nice turbo for 600+ HP ?
cheers

Maybe Millington aren't into turbo's? Makes sense when they can get the power they do from their heads (which they've designed themselves).

The guy who commissioned the build had the engine built for some thing else.
From what i understand it was to be a similar sort of thing to Jay leno's car but one step further with a Custom chassis, running gear and heavily modified body (350hp and 600kg)
Retropower don't build allot of Turbo's cars, not sure why but they all seem to be screamers. Think this one is down to weight.

You'd be right!! it's going to be all new parts (most fabricated from scratch) but whats interesting is there was talk about making an alloy bodied Elan..... guess it depends on what budget was decided on.
