Photos of this car currently available on Ebay. Strangely the sill panels look like they've been attacked with paint stripper!

How on earth do you recall a particular car from 36 years ago? Eidetic memory?

RJH 120D was a yellow press/dealer demonstrator, first registered at the Reading licensing office, as were some other press cars, on 14 December 1966. The last V5 change was in July 1986 so it was clearly running in the UK up until 1994.
I wonder if the event with Rob Walker at Corsely Garage, depicted in the photos now for sale, was something to do with the first dealer delivery of S3 DHC SEs and the then new S3 Type 36 Coupes.
This photo shows slightly more clearly the bad case of road rash that RJH 120D was suffering from. The car was often photographed alongside the FHC SAR 120D at the factory in press photos.

My first S£ was registered SAR 370 D - I wonder what became of it? I thought I was buying an S2 but this turned up! It had a fairshare of S2 parts in it and the wiring was strange. I bought it as a kit and got Louts to assemble it in the lunch hour for cash!! Happy days. D
