The car will never turn with the front brakes locked up.

Maybe something has happened around the tight right hand bend, right of shot. Hence the red flag.
If you look at the video by frame it looks llike the driver has hit the brakes with full right lock on and simply slid straight on into the Armoco. Although there is no marks there is a suggestion of smoke coming off the front tyres and the Elan is already pointing left.
It looks like be a tough break for him with nowhere else to go. "Luckily" he appears to have hit an Armoco upright they may have prevented the Elan wedging underneath.

Looked like panic to me, I've seen several people fly past me on the approach to a bend, usually on the first lap, that leave me thinking either this guy is superb or crazy, often they panic, lock the brakes and if they even try to turn in then its with the wheels locked compounding their woes.
If an out of control vehicle remains with fixed control inputs (brakes locked, steering fixed in one position) for more than a fraction of a second heading towards disaster (which seems like an eternity nehind the Wheel) then its a safe bet that the driver is tetanised by fear, its probably happened to all of us at least one time if we are honest and not necessarily in a vehicle.
When you watch the Youtube videos of road accidents on ice especially those where multiple vehicles crash at the same spot you see exactly the same but it can last for a very long time.

I keep looking at the angles of the car in each frame, watching the rotation angle of the car and I am wondering if something more is happening? If the brakes were locked on and the wheel is turned right I would expect the car to slide straight forward as more lock is dialed in, but it looks like the car is actually rotating to the left as more right hand lock is applied. I can't come up with what would cause the car to rotate left. Did a rod end break under hard braking, or did one wheel brake or lock and not the others? Certainly the red flag is up for a reason, but I am wondering what is causing the left rotation of the car. Any ideas?

seems it was wet on the inside (Portaria Hillclimb 27/28 Sept. 2014), more seasoned climbers took wide successfully adopting the typical style :
